With all of these new and likable improvements outside of the actual gameplay, it was no surprise that the basketball experience was more refined than ever. It’s a neat set of challenges that will keep you engaged and constantly improving your game to match that of the champ. Not only that, but they are all based on real feats this basketball legend pulled off himself, like scoring 63 points while being over 50% in field goals. I won’t lie, this list is insane and difficult to overcome unless you’re quite skilled. The real fun, for me, came in with the huge focus on Michael Jordan himself with the all new list of Jordan Challenges. You’re able to play 29, 58, or 82 matches each season and can use your own player too. The classic season mode, either online or solo, are just as good as always. This time around, each menu has been streamlined and the in-game stats/other menus are easy to understand. Previously, the menus all felt a bit messy, under polished, and a bit confusing. This isn’t as integral to the gameplay, but the overall UI of the game is a huge step up from 2K10. The new game modes that can either create a well-rounded, believable progression or can give you a crazy, wild basketball experience unlike ever before. NBA 2K11 is not only an in-depth experience but is also presented in an equally fleshed out manner.
From the Jordan, Blacktop, and Playoffs/Season modes, to the terrific My Player and player creation capabilities, there are a seemingly endless number of things to love about this game and it just keeps on giving.
To say the least, 2K11 is one of the best sporting video games that’s ever been made and that still holds up just as well today. NBA 2K11 proves that its entirely possible to keep a good thing going no matter long you do it as long as its done with a great deal of dedication, creativity, and taking in past criticism. There are several cases where this is wholly applicable, and I couldn’t agree with them more.
Look, I get why people would love this, but I have to be honest and say that I do slightly prefer the more focused roster from WWE 13.For some, the improvements in any sports franchise series may seem minimal and not worth the effort. It features a massive roster and thanks to the 30 Years Of WrestleMania mode, the roster is stacked with legends from all eras. It is stacked with match types which is always great. They managed to keep everything that made WWE 13 great intact here when it comes to virtually recreating the WWE. It made for an overall more fun and quicker experience that especially came true when you were playing with a friend. The gameplay had been kicked up a notch from WWE 13 and as a result, things were much more fluid and faster. In WWE 2K14 things were actually looking quite good. While over the last few years, the WWE 2K series has just gotten staler and staler in terms of the gameplay. There is also WWE Universe Mode which allows you to try your hand at running the WWE anyway that you see fit.
Or you can play as another wrestler as you try and break the Dead Man’s iconic streak. You had a new Streak Mode where you can either play as The Undertaker as you try and defend your epic WrestleMania streak. But Wait, There’s More!Īs well as the awesome 30 Years Of WrestleMania mode, WWE 2K14 also had other game modes to enjoy. There truly is something for every fan in this game mode. John Cena leads the charge in Ruthless Aggression and the current stars of today are what The Universe Era is about. The Attitude Era mode features stars like The Rock and Steve Austin. Each chapter features classic WrestleMania moments to play through such as Hulk Hogan’s classic matches, Bret Hart, and Shawn Michaels's rise during the New Generation Era.
